Yesterday was indeed epic at Madison Square Garden NYC as Burna Boy went all in to deliver an unforgettable experience.
Recall that the Afrobeat singer in a Twitter post on April 28 recounted his music journey and achievements in New York. He tweeted:
“The journey in NY has been a blessing. PlayStation theatre in 2017, Gramercy theatre in 2018, the Apollo in 2019 and today 2022 we are in Madison Square Garden. Thank you New York for sticking with me all these years through this great Journey.”
From the highlights of the “One Night In Space Concert”, you can tell that the audience were already lit up before the “African Giant” step a foot on stage.
Being the first African artist to headline the Madison Square Garden, Burna made a grand entrance to the concert arena with all cheers and delight after a short intro by American rapper, Busta Rhymes.
Then, it began— the damn frenzy performance that hit the world.
Starting with their traditional “Level Up” tune, the duo of Burna and Senegalese Youssou N’Dour invoked the African spirit with the accompaniment of the strings sounds to mark the beginning of the concert “proper-proper”. Classic!
One of the beautiful moments of the concert is the incredible transitions. From “gbese”, “Sponono to Sungba”, “Kilometer” to “Killin them” the afrobeat singer switches to each song so beautifully to thrill the audience again and again.
Add that Burna Boy owned up the stage. He employed every rudiment of stage management to the delight of his fans. Though he dominated the stage, throughout the concert, he kept sharing his lyrics with the energetic audience.
At this point, everything went frolic for both the entertainer and the entertained— when a largesse audience got high and went braless.
The energy was contagious, every participant caught it. Even Burna himself couldn’t contain the euphoria. He was left with no option but to go insane. After all, he started the fire.
Meanwhile, the live performance could not have slapped so hard without the “Outsiders band.” The saxophonist especially stole the shine yesterday with his super dope rendition.
In the whole, the Burna Boy’s concert-filled performance is a historic one that will resonate the year.
In case you missed it…
