Kelechi has been on the Premier League radar owing to his outstanding form since the second half of the season has started. The Nigerian forward has been making spectacular achievements with his partnership with veteran striker, Jamie Vardy.
With Leicester’s 3-5-2 pattern of playing, Vardy’s goalscoring mantle has been affected by the supporting role he plays to for the in-form Kelechi Iheanacho. However, their partnership is already giving the team a hope to secure a place in the Champions League qualification spots.
In Kelechi’s three previous seasons at the King Power stadium, he has managed to score 20 goals in all competitions for Leicester. However, he has been in the limelight this season for his 18 goals in all competitions.
In his past 13 matches, he has scored thirteen goals, one of those he scored yesterday night against Chelsea. His goal against Chelsea yesterday has put him in the Premier League record sheet.
According to OptaFacts, Kelechi is the first player in Premier League history to score a goal in all seven days of the week within a single season in the competition.
Besides this, since the start of March, Kelechi has topped the list of most goals scored in the Premier League. He has scored 11 goals in 11 appearances, followed by Harry Kane with 8 goals in 10 appearances.
