OPC Operatives Who Captured Fulani Warlord In Ibarapa Regain Freedom After 3 Months In Police Detention

The OPC operatives who captured Fulani warlord Wakali who had reportedly been terrorising Ayete, Ibarapa environs have regained their freedom after spending about 3 months in Police detention.

The three OPC men were arrested on Sunday, March 7, 2021, after they stormed the base of the alleged warlord, Iskilu Wakili arrested him and handed him over to police.

The police had detained the OPC members, alleging that they burnt his house and killed a woman in it.

The trio, Dauda Kazeem, Awodele Adedigba and Ramon Hassan were for murder and arson based on the advice of the Department of Public Prosecution.

An Iyaganku Magistrate Court in Ibadan, on Tuesday, however, ruled that the suspects should not be charged for any offense because there is no evidence to charge against them.

Oyo State Coordinator of OPC, Comrade Rotimi Oguntade also known as Oluomo confirmed their release.

The Convener, Igangan Development Advocate (IDA), was also on ground to celebrate their release.
