Following the senate meeting which was held yesterday, May 17, 2021, a conclusion was reached on a number of pending issues.

Recall that the university, due to COVID 19 constrictions had shifted physical courses to online platforms where students have been receiving lecturers virtually since February, 2021.

In a bid to arrive at a hitch-free semester, the proposal for physical resumption has been approved. Subsequently, halls of residence will be open to students from Saturday, 22nd May with a purported fee of #30,000 which covers the rest of this semester and the next semester.

Naija Banquet gathered that the school management, in a bid to respect the COVID-19 protocol, said halls of residence will consider only 50% of their capacity and fresh students will be given priority. Students can check their hall allocations via http://streceipt.ui.edu.ng

Students who have issues with course registration and school fees payment are to write the Dean of Students through the Student Union, requesting a reopening of the portal so that they can access the portal. Details of affected students should be clearly stated in the body of their letters.

Also, the tenure of the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. A. Ekanola has been extended from May 31st to October 31st. This decision came after a call for a new nomination. His re-nomination was sealed with a vote where he garnered 151 votes of senate members while 2 abstained.
